The XP DEUS II doesn’t have one “maximum depth,” because real detecting depth depends on the soil you’re hunting, the size of the metal target, and the coil you’re using. In everyday detecting, most users can expect coins and jewelry to be found at 6–12 inches, with the possibility of reaching 14–15 inches in mild, low-mineralized ground. Larger relics often come in at 12–20 inches or more, and big metal objects—like large relics or cache-style targets—can be detected 2 feet deep (or use the XTREM Extension for even more depth!).
Thanks to XP’s FMF multi-frequency technology, the DEUS II delivers excellent depth while still keeping fast target separation in trashy ground. Soil mineralization, coil size, and the hunt program you choose all influence how deep it can go, but in real-world use, the DEUS II consistently performs at the top of its class in depth and accuracy.
