The Gold Bug II isn't designed for saltwater use - it's purpose-built specifically for gold prospecting in mineralized soil. For beach detecting, you'd want a detector with true saltwater capabilities and lower frequency operation. If you're looking for both gold prospecting and beach hunting, you'd need two different machines or consider a multi-purpose detector from our main detector selection.
