The ACE 400 control box isn't waterproof, but the search coil is submersible up to the shaft. You can hunt in light rain if you protect the control box, and you can wade in shallow water as long as you keep the electronics dry. For fully waterproof detecting, check out our Garrett AT series detectors that handle complete submersion.
