If you hunt beaches, rivers, or in rain - yes. The AT Pro is waterproof to 10 feet, has better ground balance control for variable soil, and handles a wider range of target types at 15 kHz. For pure dry-land hunting in straightforward conditions, the ACE 400 is genuinely capable at significantly lower cost. The decision comes down to whether water detecting is part of your plan at all. The AT Max is the step up from the AT Pro with wireless audio and better tracking. See the full AT Series comparison.
