All three Garrett AT models - AT Pro, AT Max, and AT Gold - are rated to 10 feet (approximately 3 meters) of submersion. This covers surf wading, river hunting, and shallow snorkeling work. The machines are not rated for scuba diving depths. For actual dive detecting deeper than 10 feet, the XP DEUS II at 65 feet or the Garrett Sea Hunter MkII at 200+ feet are the appropriate machines. See dive-rated metal detectors.
