The Minelab Manticore is fully waterproof to 10 feet and handles beach detecting effectively. Its Multi-IQ+ technology is stable in salt environments. That said, the Manticore's primary advantage - the 2D target ID display - is most valuable on iron-heavy relic sites rather than beaches, where target separation is less of a challenge than raw depth and salt stability. For dedicated beach hunters, the Minelab Equinox 900 is typically a better investment at lower cost. The Manticore on a beach is capable but you are paying for capabilities you may not fully use there.
