The Minelab Equinox 800 uses Multi-IQ simultaneous multi-frequency for better performance in variable soil and salt beach conditions. The X-TERRA Pro uses Pro-Switch selectable frequencies - one frequency at a time, switchable between sessions. Both are waterproof to 5 meters. For beach detecting and variable terrain, the Equinox 800's simultaneous multi-frequency is a meaningful advantage. For primarily land use at moderate sites, the X-TERRA Pro performs effectively at a lower price. If beach performance is important to you, the Equinox 800 is the better investment.
