These machines are in fundamentally different categories. The Gold Bug Pro is a high-frequency VLF machine - effective in moderate goldfield mineralization, light in weight, and significantly less expensive. The Minelab GPX 6000 is pulse induction - essentially immune to ground mineralization, reaching targets the Gold Bug Pro cannot in highly mineralized conditions, at a price that is many times higher. The Gold Bug Pro is the right VLF starting point for most prospectors. The GPX 6000 is the upgrade for prospectors who have found highly productive ground that defeats VLF performance.
