At 300kHz, the Falcon MD20 has extreme sensitivity to small, low-conductivity targets like fine gold flakes that lower-frequency machines cannot reliably detect. The tradeoff of very high frequency is reduced depth on larger targets and increased susceptibility to ground mineralization effects. The MD20 is designed specifically for the fine-target recovery situations where its high frequency is an advantage — concentrate checking, crevice sampling, and thin jewelry detection. For general metal detecting and ground coverage, lower frequencies (3–40kHz) are more practical.
