The Garrett Pro-Pointer AT is the right pinpointer for the vast majority of detectorists - capable on land and waterproof to 10 feet for most beach use. Treasure Products instruments are for the specific situations where the Pro-Pointer AT falls short: actual underwater recovery at depth (Vibra-Probe 585), and mineralized-ground and black sand performance where VLF pinpointers struggle (Vibra-Tector 740). Most hunters should start with the Garrett Pro-Pointer AT.
