The Quest XPointer runs on one 9-volt alkaline battery (not included) and delivers approximately 8 hours of continuous use per battery. The pinpointer features a low-battery alert that warns you before the battery dies, so you can carry a spare and swap it in the field without losing hunting time. A 3-minute standby mode activates when the pinpointer is idle, conserving battery life during long detecting sessions. To maximize battery life, turn the XPointer off when you move between sites or take a break.
