The larger coil adds noticeable swing weight compared to the standard Simplex coil. Detectorists accustomed to compact coils may experience fatigue during extended hunts, especially when hunting in a standing posture rather than a slow walk. The elliptical shape distributes weight better than round coils of equivalent area, and a padded arm cuff or counterweight shaft extension can offset the balance shift. Plan for shorter hunt sessions or alternate between the SX35 and a lighter coil during all-day outings.
