The RC29 uses a Double D winding configuration with two overlapping D-shaped transmit coils, creating a blade-shaped detection field that extends deeper into mineralized ground with less interference. A concentric coil has a circular outer transmit winding and a smaller inner receive winding, producing a cone-shaped field that offers slightly better pinpointing and target separation in clean soil but struggles more with ground mineralization and hot rocks. In iron-heavy parks or red clay, the RC29's DD design keeps the Racer quieter and more stable. In low-mineral sand or turf, a concentric coil can give you a small edge in target ID accuracy, but the RC29 is the more versatile all-around choice.
