Use standard metal detecting swing techniques by moving the RC29 in a smooth arc parallel to the ground, keeping the coil level and close to the soil surface throughout the sweep. The 11x7 elliptical footprint is longer front to back than side to side, so overlap sweeps for complete coverage to avoid leaving undetected strips. Walk at a steady pace, one step per swing, and avoid lifting the coil at the ends of your arc because that reduces depth and can cause you to miss edge targets. In tall grass or rough terrain, slow your swing speed and shorten your arc to maintain consistent coil height.
