The XP ORX's 9-inch HF coil and lower shaft are fully waterproof, allowing you to hunt wet sand, wade shallow surf, and work creeks. The LCD remote control is splash-resistant only and must stay dry, so submerging the remote will damage it. The detector includes a Salt mode with ground rejection settings from 00 to 25 to handle wet saltwater sand and alkali flats. We've used the ORX in the surf zone on California beaches, and the wireless architecture eliminates cable corrosion failures common with wired detectors in saltwater environments.
