The XP ORX's Gold program is tuned for low to average mineralization with good sensitivity to medium and large-sized gold nuggets. The Fine Gold program handles heavy mineralization (hot ground, ironstone, decomposed granite) with enhanced sensitivity to small and medium-sized nuggets. Fine Gold uses tighter discrimination and faster recovery to separate targets from hot rocks and ferrous trash, though it may sacrifice some depth on deeper large nuggets compared to the Gold program. Both programs include five levels of IAR (Iron Audio Reject) discrimination to filter iron without masking non-ferrous targets.
