The Garrett Axiom Explorer Package ships with a 13"x11" Mono search coil and an 11"x7" DD search coil, both with coil covers. The Mono coil delivers maximum depth on small to mid-size nuggets and handles hot ground without the null zone that DD coils carry at center. The DD coil gives you Iron Check tone ID for trash-heavy patches and better target separation in trashy ground. Both coils are submersible, and coil swaps take about two minutes in the field. The control unit automatically recognizes the coil type on startup.
