Iron cancel on the Goldmaster 24k is an adjustable filter that quiets hot rocks and ferrous trash without crushing depth on small gold. The control runs from 0 to 99, and we typically set it between 30 and 40 for desert wash prospecting. Lower settings keep borderline signals audible, which matters when a small nugget and a ferrous fragment are close together. Higher settings reject more iron but can also reject low-conductor gold in the same range, so prospectors working known gold ground often run lower iron cancel to avoid missing targets.
