The Axiom offers Iron Check on DD search coils, which audibly flags ferrous targets so you can skip obvious iron trash and dig the non-ferrous tones that matter. Standard PI detectors do not discriminate, which means you dig every nail in a homestead. The Axiom changes that math when paired with the 13" x 11" DD coil and Iron Check turned on. This feature closes a real gap PI machines have long had against trashy relic ground. The mono coils do not support Iron Check but deliver slightly more raw depth on clean signals, so prospectors working open goldfields where iron density is low often prefer the mono.
