The Garrett AT Gold runs on four AA alkaline batteries, which are included and installed in the box. The battery holder is also pre-installed. Battery life depends on sensitivity settings and threshold volume, but our team typically gets a full day of hunting on a fresh set of alkalines in All-Metal Mode at moderate sensitivity.
