Iron Audio is a Garrett-exclusive feature that lets us hear discriminated iron at a low volume while running True All-Metal Mode, so we know when a flat iron object is responsible for a high-tone hit before we dig. In All-Metal, the detector normally accepts everything for maximum depth, but Iron Audio adds an audible grunt on discriminated iron targets like bottle caps, washers, and nails. We set Iron Audio to the lowest level that still flags large iron, and it saves us from chasing flat steel without losing the depth advantage of All-Metal. The feature is available in all three modes on the AT Gold.
