The Garrett Goldmaster 24k's 6" x 10" DD coil and lower shaft are waterproof, and the control housing is rainproof. That means you can sweep through shallow water, over wet bedrock, and hunt in rain without damaging the detector. The coil handles submersion for creek hunting and bedrock-crack work, but the control housing should stay above water. We run this machine in wet conditions regularly, and the rainproof housing has held up through desert monsoons and mountain drizzle without issue.
