The VX7 has built-in Z-Lynk wireless technology, so it pairs with Garrett wireless headphones and pinpointers without an external transmitter. Z-Lynk wireless headphones (MS-3 or CS-3) are sold separately. The VX7 also includes a 1/8-inch waterproof headphone jack for wired accessories when hunting fully submerged, since wireless signals do not transmit underwater. We run wireless options on land for a cordless workflow, and switch to wired tools when hunting specialized environments found within our waterproof metal detectors 10–16 feet section.
