The VX5 ships with an 8.5" x 11" DD Vortex Raider searchcoil. Optional Vortex coils include the 5" x 8" DD Vortex Ripper for trashy entry zones, the 6" x 11" DD Viper for excellent maneuverability and target separation, and the 14" x 11" DD Vortex Reaper for deeper detection depth and covering more terrain with each sweep. Vortex coils are available for the series, so a coil upgrade enhances your detecting capabilities if you later step up to a higher-tier Vortex.
