The ACE 400 provides good depth on coin-sized targets in average soil and greater depth on larger relics depending on conductivity and soil conditions. The DD coil gives better depth and stable ground handling over mineralized soil than the concentric coils on lower ACE models. Depth is a function of target size, conductivity, soil moisture, and mineralization, so we tune sensitivity between 5 and 7 of 8 depending on site conditions and listen for faint repeatable signals that break the threshold.
