The Garrett ACE 300's 7 by 10 inch concentric coil and lower shaft are fully waterproof, so you can hunt lake edges, creek banks, and saturated turf after rain. The control housing itself is splash-resistant only, not submersible, so keep the housing dry above the splash line and rinse the coil at the end of the day. This detector is not engineered for saltwater or wet salt sand, where mineralization will overwhelm the fixed factory ground balance.
