How does the ACE 300 handle mineralized soil?

The ACE 300 uses a fixed factory ground balance, which works well in low to moderate mineralization but will chatter and lose depth in highly mineralized red dirt or black sand. In those conditions, dropping sensitivity from 7 or 8 down to 5 or 6 usually stabilizes the machine. Detectorists who hunt primarily in hot soil often step up to the ACE 400 or the Apex, which offer better ground handling through coil design and adjustable ground balance.
