The GK26C handles mineralized soil well due to its concentric configuration, which provides cleaner ground balance in hot ground compared to some DD coils. Gold country often has heavy magnetite or schist content, and the concentric geometry reduces interference from those minerals while maintaining sensitivity to small gold targets. You'll still need to ground balance properly when entering new ground types, but the GK26C's smaller footprint concentrates detection energy in a tighter zone, which helps separate target signals from ground noise. Prospectors working desert washes or old hydraulic pits with heavy mineral content report stable operation when the coil is properly balanced.
