The GPX 14-inch Double-D coil is waterproof to 3 feet (1 meter), meaning you can fully submerge the coil while hunting creek beds, shallow streams, and wet washes. The waterproof rating applies to the coil itself, not the GPX 6000 control box, so keep the detector's electronics above water. We've run this coil through seasonal desert washes and gold-bearing creeks without issue. The waterproof construction also protects against rain and mud, common conditions during prospecting trips in variable weather.
