The Xtrem Hunter is weather-resistant and withstands rain and adverse field conditions, but it is not waterproof or submersible. The coils and electronics are sealed against moisture from rain and damp ground, but the system is not rated for wading, surf hunting, or submersion. If you hunt wet sand or shallow water, keep the coil housings and control box above the waterline. For fully waterproof detecting, use the standard Deus II coils, which carry an IP68 waterproof rating and can be submerged.
