The plastic camlock pin prevents the Deus II coil from detecting the fastener during sweeps. Standard XP shafts use a stainless steel pin to secure the pressure plate, but stainless steel is a conductive metal that can trigger false signals when the coil passes over the pin during low, slow sweeps. Underwater detecting amplifies this issue because divers often work at extreme coil angles while navigating uneven bottoms. XP replaced the steel pin with a plastic pin on the Dive Shaft to eliminate this interference, which is detailed alongside other advanced engineering features on our metal detector technologies overview page.
