The WS6 headphones function as a standalone control interface, giving you access to all 12 factory programs, ground balance, sensitivity, and discrimination settings through the headphone menu. The remote becomes necessary when you want stem-mounted controls, prefer a visual LCD readout over audio menus, or need to switch programs quickly without cycling through headphone buttons.
