The Deus II remote features a quick-release clip on the back that attaches to the detector's lower shaft in under two seconds. Press your thumb on the bottom of the remote's clip to open the spring-loaded clamp, slide the clip over the shaft tube, then release to lock it in place. The clip grips round and oval shaft profiles without tools or straps. To remove the remote, press the thumb release again and slide the clip off the shaft. Many hunters mount the remote just above the coil cable connection for easy thumb access, while others prefer a mid-shaft position to reduce arm fatigue.
