The aerial antenna (waveguide) is designed to maintain the radio link between the coil and remote or WS-4 headset when submerged, carrying digital data including target ID, audio, and threshold information. The 8-foot cable length is sufficient for standard swing arcs, and the thin coaxial design doesn't add meaningful drag in the water column. The waveguide antenna routes communication signals from the coil's processor to your control unit, allowing the detector to function normally in underwater environments.
