The cover is designed for field use and can be removed and reinstalled as needed. Pull gently when removing the cover to avoid snagging the edge on the coil lugs. Detectorists who swap coils mid-hunt or who transport their detector with the cover on and remove it for storage can cycle the cover on and off without immediate tearing. The material stretches slightly with repeated use, so a cover that feels tight on the first install may seat more loosely over time. When the cover no longer grips the coil edge firmly, it's time to replace it.
