The cap installs by threading it onto the pinpointer's battery compartment opening until it seats against the body. No special tools are required, and the red membrane filter is pre-installed. Remove the old cap by unscrewing it counterclockwise, then thread the new cap clockwise until snug. Ensure the battery compartment is clean and dry before installing the new cap to prevent trapping debris under the seal.
