If the strap becomes loose during a hunt, stop and readjust it immediately to prevent detector instability or arm fatigue. Peel the hook and loop surfaces apart, reposition the strap around your forearm with the desired tension, and press the fastener closed again. The closure's surface area provides enough grip to hold securely without over-tightening. If the strap repeatedly loosens despite readjustment, inspect the fastener for dirt, sand, or debris that may be preventing full contact between the hook and loop surfaces. Clean both surfaces with a brush or damp cloth and allow to dry before reattaching. If the fastener has lost grip strength due to wear, replace the strap to restore secure hold.
