On land, the standard wireless connection between the Deus II remote control and headphones works without range or signal-quality issues, so the antenna's wave-guide function is unnecessary. The antenna is a specialized accessory for detectorists who hunt in rivers, surf zones, or flooded environments where water blocks the wireless transmission. If you only hunt dry ground or shallow puddles where the detector stays above water, the standard Deus II wireless setup is sufficient.
