The X-TERRA ELITE Expedition Pack includes two waterproof search coils: the V12X 12-inch x 9-inch elliptical Double-D coil and the V8X 8-inch x 5-inch elliptical Double-D coil. Both coils carry the same submersion rating as the control box and handle different site conditions, the V12X covers open ground faster in parks and beaches, while the V8X separates targets in tight trashy spaces and fits between playground equipment. Switching coils takes under a minute, and both connect to the same lower shaft assembly.
