The difference between the 30-inch and 36-inch Badger LT is handle length only. Both models use the same 10.0-inch by 3.5-inch head with 6mm steel construction, the same hickory handle material, and the same approximate 4-pound weight. The 36-inch model gives you six more inches of reach, which helps when you're digging deeper holes or working from a standing position, but the 30-inch model is easier to pack and maneuver in tight spaces. If you're hiking long distances to your prospecting site, the 30-inch handle is less awkward to carry. If you're working deep holes and want to minimize bending, the 36-inch handle reduces back strain.
