XP Backpacks, Cases and Pouches in One Place

Every bag, case and pouch on this page is an XP accessory. They fall into three groups. The two XP backpacks carry a broken-down detector, a second coil and your recovery gear on the walk in to a site. The hard cases protect the detector in a truck bed, on a flight or in storage. The Finds Pouch, remote hip cases, headphone bag and pinpointer holster ride on your belt or inside the pack, so your finds, remote and pinpointer stay within reach.

The quickest way to choose is to start from how you travel. If you walk to your sites, look at the backpacks. If the detector rides in a vehicle or goes on a plane, look at the hard cases. Whatever you carry the detector in, the Finds Pouch and holster are the pieces you use on every hunt.

Which XP Bag Fits Your Detector?

The XP Backpack 280 is XP's large pack: 32 L, a 66 cm (26 inch) back length and 1,850 g (about 4 lb), made of 600D and 1000D polyester. Two large compartments hold the coils and lower stems, a third holds the stems and a digging tool, and XP adds at least 10 more pockets, including spaces for a pinpointer, headphones, a smartphone or remote and a waterproof pocket for maps. It has MOLLE webbing for extra pouches, a rain cover, a safety whistle and 9 adjustment straps over 5 zones. It fits the DEUS II, DEUS, ORX and ICON, and other XP detectors with S-Telescopic stems.

The XP Backpack 240 is the lighter pack: 31 L, a 65 cm (25.5 inch) back length and 700 g. XP says it carries one complete detector with its headphones, a pinpointer with its holster, a second coil, a digging tool, a bottle and a snack. Outside it has a compartment for two coils and lower stems, a large pinpointer pocket that takes the holster, a headphone pocket, a bottle pocket, a mesh pocket and a light rain resistant zipped map pocket; inside, a dedicated coil pocket and a pocket for keys or the remote. Foam lines the back and handles, and the chest strap carries an emergency whistle. It fits the DEUS and ORX, and every one of our ICON and ICONX bundles with a backpack ships with the Backpack 240.

The XP Transport Case is a tough ABS hard case, shockproof, rain and dustproof, that carries a detector and up to three coils. It measures 725 x 480 x 170 mm (28.5 x 18.9 x 6.7 inch) and weighs 2.7 kg (6 lb). XP optimized it for the DEUS and ORX, and it also takes the DEUS II, ICON and ICONX; the case closes with an ICON packed inside. The Pelicase 1700 is the heavy duty option for flights: 908 x 343 x 133 mm (35.7 x 13.5 x 5.2 inch) inside, 968 x 406 x 155 mm (38.1 x 16 x 6.1 inch) outside and 7.7 kg (17 lb) with its foam. It rolls on polyurethane casters with stainless steel ball bearings, has a pre-cut foam block in the base and honeycomb foam in the lid, and a balancing valve regulates the pressure inside. XP also lists an O-ring seal, padlock points and a folding side handle. It takes the DEUS II, DEUS and ORX with S-Telescopic stems.

The XP XTREM Hunter Hard Transport Case is the same case as the XP Transport Case, at the same 725 x 480 x 170 mm (28.5 x 18.9 x 6.7 inch) and 2.7 kg. We list it separately for owners of the XTREM Hunter, the XP coil set for the DEUS II.

Finds Pouch, Holster and Belt Gear

The XP Finds Pouch has a large, directly accessible pocket for trash and a small zipped pocket for good finds. A drainage system lets water out on wet weather and water hunts, and the pouch is fully washable. You can wear it on a belt with the adjustable strap that comes with it, or on the waist belt of the Backpack 280 or Backpack 240. Two MOLLE fasteners, one on each side, take other accessories, such as the holster of your MI-6 pinpointer.

The PPCAP-1 holster takes the XP MI-6 and MI-4 pinpointers. XP's holster has a rotating base plate, so you can set the pinpointer at the angle that suits you on a belt or strap. The remote hip cases clip to your belt and keep the remote at hand. The DEUS II remote hip case is made for the DEUS II remote and also holds the original DEUS remote. The original DEUS hip case fits the DEUS and ORX remotes, but not the DEUS II remote. The WS5 headphone bag is a drawstring bag for the DEUS WS5 full-size wireless headphones.

Backpack 280 and Finds Pouch Combo

Complete Your Recovery Kit

A bag protects the detector on the way to the site; the recovery kit does the work once you are there. We recommend adding an XP MI-6 or MI-4 pinpointer, which rides in the holster on the Finds Pouch or in the backpack's pinpointer pocket, and a digger.
