Prospectors Dream Gold Mining Equipment & Mats

Prospectors Dream Sluices, Mats & Cleanup Systems in This Collection

This collection features Prospectors Dream's complete gold recovery lineup. The patented Dream mat technology anchors their sluice systems, designed to trap fine gold particles conventional riffles miss. You'll find standalone Dream mats for retrofitting existing sluices, complete sluice systems with integrated mat designs, and cleanup accessories for final gold separation. Our team uses Dream mat sluices in high-volume placer operations and small-scale stream prospecting, and the capture efficiency consistently outperforms traditional riffle designs. The mats handle varying flow rates and adapt to different gravel conditions without requiring constant adjustment.

Choosing Between Dream Mat Sluices and Conventional Riffle Systems

Dream mat sluices use a textured rubber surface with engineered vortex pockets that create low-pressure zones where fine gold settles. Conventional expanded metal or Hungarian riffles rely on turbulence and stratification, which works for coarser gold but lets flour gold escape. If you're working glacial flour gold deposits or desert drywasher material, Dream mat technology captures particles down to 100 mesh that riffles won't hold. The tradeoff: Dream mats require more careful cleanup because the gold embeds in the mat texture, but the recovery rate justifies the extra five minutes per cleanout.

For prospectors running gold metal detectors and recovering concentrates from detector holes or test pits, a portable Dream mat sluice pairs with a recirculating pump for on-site processing. The mats handle clay-heavy material better than riffles because the texture breaks up clumps and prevents packing. We've run side-by-side tests in Arizona drywasher country and the Dream mat captured 30% more fine gold from the same bucket of material compared to a standard riffle sluice. Check our gold panning guide for cleanup techniques that work with Dream mat concentrates.

Optimizing Material Preparation and Workflow

To efficiently feed the patented vortex cells of a Dream Mat, a steady, controlled feed of classified material is required. Utilizing high-quality digging tool ensures you don't lose heavy gold when transferring raw pay-dirt from the stream bed, protecting your yield from shovel to sluice.

Dream Mat Cleanup Accessories and System Integration

Prospectors Dream offers cleanup mats, gold pans, and vials designed to work with their sluice systems. The cleanup mat uses the same vortex pocket design at a smaller scale, letting you re-run concentrates and pull remaining fine gold before final panning. The system integrates with standard 5-gallon bucket recirculating setups, so you can process material in camp or at remote sites without a natural water source. For prospectors assembling a full recovery kit, pair a Dream mat sluice with their cleanup accessories and a hand pump for a portable system that handles everything from initial classification to final gold separation. The mats are modular, so you can start with one mat and expand to a multi-tray system as your operation scales.
