Garrett Metal Detector Bags, Dig Pouches and Cases

Garrett carry bags, cases and dig pouches for carrying, storing and hunting with your detector. The 50 inch All-Purpose Carry Bag and the padded 46 inch camo Soft Case each hold a current Garrett detector with the search coil attached, and Garrett makes a fitted Carrying Case for the Axiom and Vortex. For the hunt itself, the All Terrain Dig Pouch has mesh drain screens and a Pro-Pointer holster, and the Camo Digger's Pouch has a 10 inch deep zippered pocket and a belt that fits up to a 60 inch waist. The collection also holds the All-Purpose Backpack with an interior coil pouch, a web belt, the Keepers finds box and a zippered accessory case.

Garrett Bags, Cases and Dig Pouches in One Place

Every bag, case and pouch on this page is a Garrett accessory. They fall into three groups. Detector bags and cases carry the whole machine: the 50 inch All-Purpose Carry Bag and the padded 46 inch camo Soft Case take a current Garrett detector without removing the search coil, and the Carrying Case is made for the Axiom and Vortex. The All-Purpose Backpack carries a spare coil and your gear on hike-in hunts. Dig pouches, the web belt and the small cases ride on your belt or in your pack, so your pinpointer, finds and trash stay out of your pockets.

The quickest way to choose is to start from how you travel. If the detector rides in a car or truck and you want it ready to swing, the 50 inch bag or the Soft Case keeps it assembled. The Soft Case adds padding and backpack straps for longer walks. If you hunt water and wet sand, the All Terrain Dig Pouch drains as you go.

Which Garrett Bag Fits Your Detector?

The Garrett All-Purpose Carry Bag is about 50 inch long, made of reinforced polyester, with two zipper pockets, a shoulder strap and carrying handles with a padded hand pad. It holds any current Garrett detector without removing the search coil. It is not padded, so it suits clean, dry storage and car transport more than rough handling.

The Garrett Soft Case in digital camouflage is a padded travel and storage bag about 46 inch long, with a full zipper opening, a carrying handle and backpack straps. Like the 50 inch bag, it holds any current Garrett detector with the search coil attached, and the padding protects the control box and coil when the bag rides with other gear.

The Garrett Carrying Case is a soft, weatherproof case custom made for the Axiom and the Vortex series, the VX5, VX7 and VX9. Choose it when you want a case cut to one of those detectors instead of a one-size bag.

The Garrett All-Purpose Backpack measures about 21.5 inch tall by 14.5 inch wide inside, with adjustable shoulder straps and an interior pouch that holds a search coil. It is not padded and does not carry the assembled detector. It is the pack for a second coil, headphones, pinpointer, digger and water on a walk in to a site.

Garrett 50 Inch All-Purpose Carry Bag, Best For:

  • Car and truck transport with the detector left assembled
  • Closet storage that keeps the detector and coil clean
  • Owners who want two zipper pockets for headphones and a hand digger

Garrett Camo Soft Case, Best For:

  • Detectorists who want padding around the control box and coil
  • Walking in to a site with the detector on your back
  • Travel, where the bag rides with other luggage

Garrett All Terrain Dig Pouch, Best For:

  • Beach, surf and wet sand hunters who want water and sand to drain out
  • Pro-Pointer owners who want the pinpointer holstered on the pouch
  • Hunters who separate finds from trash in two large zippered pockets

Dig Pouches and Belts

The Garrett All Terrain Dig Pouch is a canvas pouch with mesh drain screens that let water drain out on water hunts and sift dirt on land. It has a small outer pocket for your best finds, two large zippered pockets to separate trash from treasure, a Pro-Pointer holster and an interior carabiner to secure rings. Garrett says the adjustable belt fits sizes up to 66 inch. The holster takes the Pro-Pointer AT and Pro-Pointer II.

The Garrett Camo Digger's Pouch is the simpler pouch: a 10 inch deep zippered treasure bag with an interior zippered pocket to keep trash apart from finds, and a MOLLE-type webbing grid on the front for a Pro-Pointer holster or tools. Its belt fits up to a 60 inch waist. After salt water, we recommend a fresh water rinse for either pouch.

The Garrett Black Web Belt is an adjustable web belt with a buckle that carries a finds pouch, holster or tool at your waist. Because the pouches and belt mount on you, not on the detector, they work with any brand of detector.

Small Gear Storage

Two small cases keep the parts that go missing in one place. The Garrett Keepers Finds Box is a double-sided, stackable box about 4.5 x 3.5 x 1 inch with several compartments for coins, buttons and jewelry, small enough for a dig pouch. The Garrett Accessory Case is a black zippered case about 7 x 5 x 2 inch for test targets, charging cables, batteries and coil hardware.

Soft Case and Backpack Combo

One listing here pairs the camo Soft Case with the All-Purpose Backpack, the Garrett Camo Digger's Pouch, a Garrett Edge Digger and a galvanized steel sand scoop. The Edge Digger has a 7.5 inch carbon steel blade with cutting teeth, a 12 inch overall length and a belt sheath. The sand scoop is made for sifting beach sediment.

Complete Your Recovery Kit

A bag protects the detector on the way to the site; the recovery kit does the work once you are there. We recommend adding a Garrett Pro-Pointer, which fits the holster on the All Terrain Dig Pouch, and a digger. For other brands' bags and pouches, see all carry bags and pouches.

Which Garrett bag should I buy for my metal detector?

The Garrett bag to buy depends on how you carry your detector. For car or truck transport with the detector assembled, the Garrett All-Purpose Carry Bag is about 50 inch long and holds any current Garrett detector without removing the search coil. For padding and backpack straps, choose the Garrett camo Soft Case, about 46 inch long, which also takes a current Garrett detector with the coil on. Axiom and Vortex owners can choose the Garrett Carrying Case made for those detectors. If you are unsure, call or email us with your detector and coil and we will confirm the fit.

What is the difference between the Garrett All Terrain Dig Pouch and the Camo Digger's Pouch?

The difference between the Garrett All Terrain Dig Pouch and the Camo Digger's Pouch is size and water handling. The All Terrain Dig Pouch is a canvas pouch with mesh drain screens for water hunting, a small outer pocket, two large zippered pockets, a built-in Pro-Pointer holster, an interior carabiner and a belt that fits up to 66 inch. The Camo Digger's Pouch has one 10 inch deep zippered pocket with a zippered trash pocket inside, a MOLLE-type webbing grid for a Pro-Pointer holster or tools, and a belt that fits up to 60 inch. We recommend the All Terrain Dig Pouch for beach and water hunts and the Camo Digger's Pouch for parks and fields.

Is the Garrett 50 inch carry bag or the Garrett Soft Case better for my detector?

The Garrett 50 inch All-Purpose Carry Bag and the Garrett Soft Case both hold a current Garrett detector with the search coil attached; the choice comes down to padding and how you carry it. The 50 inch bag is reinforced polyester, not padded, with two zipper pockets, a shoulder strap and carrying handles. The camo Soft Case is padded, about 46 inch long, with a full zipper opening, a carrying handle and backpack straps. We recommend the Soft Case when the detector travels with other gear or on your back, and the 50 inch bag for clean storage and car transport. For other brands, see all carry bags and pouches.
