At Serious Detecting, we want you to feel confident when purchasing your metal detector or accessories. Our goal is to make returns and exchanges clear, fair, and hassle-free so you can shop with complete peace of mind.

30-Day Money Back Guarantee

You may return or exchange any metal detector or accessory within 30 days of receiving your order for a full refund, as long as the item is new, unused, unassembled, and still in its original unopened packaging with all manuals and manufacturer documentation included.

Free Return Shipping on US Orders

Returns are free for customers in the United States. We provide a prepaid return label at no cost to you, whatever the reason for your return — whether the item was faulty, we made a mistake, or you simply changed your mind.

You receive the full amount you paid. We do not deduct outbound shipping from your refund, even if your order originally shipped under a free-shipping promotion.

Orders shipped outside the United States are not covered. International and Mexico customers are responsible for arranging and paying for return shipping, insurance and packaging.

How to Start a Return

The quickest way is through your account:

  1. Sign in to your account and open the order you want to return.
  2. Select the items you are sending back and submit the request.
  3. Once approved, your prepaid return label is emailed to you. Print it, attach it to the package and drop it off.

If you checked out as a guest or would rather deal with a person, email support@seriousdetecting.com with your order number and the reason for your return. We reply within 48 hours with instructions, a return label and, where required, a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) ID.

Defective or Incorrect Items

If your detector or accessory arrives defective out of the box, or if we made an error with your order, contact us within 14 days and we will replace the item at no cost to you.

Opened or Used Items

If an item has been opened or lightly used but remains undamaged, it may still be returned within the 30-day period with a 15% restocking fee. We are unable to accept returns after 30 days.

Bundled Products

Bundles must be returned with all included items in new condition. If a bundled item has been opened or used but not damaged, a 15% restocking fee will apply based on the original item’s price.

Final Sale Items

Due to manufacturer restrictions, the following items are Final Sale and are not eligible for returns or refunds:

Refund Processing Time

Once your return arrives and is inspected (typically within 48 hours of receipt), we will process your refund. Refunds are issued to your original payment method within 7 days. Depending on your bank or credit card provider, it may take an additional 2–10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement.
