Finds Pouches, Belts & Lightweight Covers

Why Skip the Padding

Foam earns its place when the cargo is fragile, and most of what a detectorist carries is not. A finds pouch holds coins, trash, and a hand digger. A tool belt holds steel. A backpack hauls gear that was built for dirt in the first place. Leaving the padding out makes every one of those pieces lighter, thinner, and easier to pack, and it keeps the cost down on gear you will drag through mud, sand, and brush without a second thought. Simple sleeve-style detector bags still do honest work as dry storage: a folded machine in a simple sleeve stays clean and dust-free in a closet or the back of a car without the bulk of a padded case.

Built Around the Belt

Most of this page rides on your hips. Finds pouches separate keepers from trash, and the mesh-bottom beach versions drain sand and saltwater as fast as you scoop it in. A sheath keeps a hand digger where your hand lands without looking, and a dedicated holster does the same for a pinpointer, which goes in and out a hundred times in a hunt. None of that gear wants padding; it wants tough fabric, honest stitching, and drainage. A good waist belt ties the rig together so your pockets stay empty and your swing stays free.

When to Cross to the Padded Side

Match the bag to what it protects and how it travels. A bare detector loose in a car trunk eats scratches, and a control box that bounces off a truck bed wall may not shrug it off. If the bag's job is transporting the detector itself, especially anything with a screen, the padded carry bags are the shortlist, and flying always means padded. For everything that simply needs to be carried, held, or kept dry, the lightweight gear here does the job with less weight and less to spend. The full wall, padded and not, lives in all bags, pouches and covers.
