XP Deus II Headphone Troubles? Here’s How to Connect

XP Deus II Headphone Troubles? Here’s How to Connect

The XP Deus II is incredibly versatile-but that also means it relies on software synchronization between your Remote Control (RC), WS6 Master, and wireless headphones.

If your headphones won't connect, cut out mid-hunt, or don't seem to respond to settings, don't worry-you're not alone. Most connection issues come down to one of two things:

  • They're not properly paired to the RC or WS6 Master
  • The headphones are on a different software version than the detector

Below is a breakdown of each headphone option-and what to check if they won't connect or behave as expected.

🎧 WS6 Wireless Headphones (Also usable as WS6 Master)

Most Common Issue: User tries to connect them to the Remote (RC) when the WS6 is currently acting as the Master.

Fix:

  • If you're using the WS6 as master, it will not connect to the RC-you must choose either the RC-based setup OR the WS6-based setup, not both at once.

  • On the RC, navigate to Option → Pairing → Headphones → Select → Follow on-screen instructions to pair your WS6 module as a headphone

  • If that fails, delete all paired devices and retry

Reminder: WS6 firmware must match your RC version-update them both together!

🎧 WSA II Wireless Headphones (Lite, On-Ear Style)

Most Common Issue: They appear to pair, but there's no sound-even though they show as "connected."

Fix:

  • Ensure that your audio output is set to wireless headphones

  • If still silent, power cycle the WSA II and pair again

  • Make sure they're charged - low battery can prevent audio but still show as paired

🎧 WSA II XL (Full-Size Over-Ear)

Most Common Issue: Laggy or muffled audio compared to WS6 or RC speaker.

Fix:

  • Make sure you're not standing too close to another paired device, like a coil or secondary WS6-Bluetooth interference can occur

  • Go into Option → Audio → Audio Type (PWM / Square) and Equalizer - these headphones are more sensitive to setting adjustments

🎧 BH-01 Bone Conduction Headphones (For Diving & Open-Ear Detection)

Most Common Issue: User hears faint or "underwater" audio when not actually underwater.

Fix:

  • Bone conduction sounds weaker above ground-they're designed to work best when your body is grounded or submerged

  • If used on land, increase the volume using in the audio settings

  • Keep in mind that these headphones are wired and select your audio output accordingly

Final Tip: Always Update Everything Together

Before pairing anything, make sure:

RC / WS6 Master / Headphones - ALL running the same software version.

If even one is outdated, you'll get pairing failures, mismatched tones, or random disconnects.

You can check and update everything via XP's Update Utility on PC or Mac.
