XP WSA II Wireless Headphones for Deus II Metal Detector
Wireless headphones are rainproof, foldable, compact, lightweight, and compatible with the DEUS II, ICON and ICONX.
The WSA II is a sophisticated wireless receiver headset. Made in France by XP, especially for our detectors. It works with the DEUS II and ICON/ICONX remote controls, or with the WS6 Master when the WS6 is used as a command module.
XP's wireless protocol is about 10 times faster than low-latency Bluetooth. In the field, this ultra-fast transmission results in better location of targets.
- Once paired with the remote control or the WS6 Master, it switches on and off automatically (Manually press - to switch on, + and – simultaneously to switch off). If no connection is detected, the headphones turn off after 5 minutes.
- Its volume can be adjusted either from the remote control (or the WS6 Master) or directly using the + - keys.
- It also incorporates 4-band audio equalization processing, always adjustable from the remote control (or the WS6 Master), in order to adapt it to your hearing.
- Battery level: After the rapid ignition flashes, the helmet indicates its battery level by 1 to 3 long successive flashes depending on the state of its battery: 3 flashes correspond to a 100% battery level. 2 flashes, 60%, and 1 flash, 30%.
What the WSA II Works With
The WSA II needs a master unit to run. It pairs with a remote control, or with a WS6 Master acting as the controller, and it will not connect to a search coil on its own. Confirmed compatible:
- XP DEUS II, using the DEUS II Remote Control or a WS6 Master
- XP ICON and ICONX, using the ICON/ICONX remote control
- XP XTREM HUNTER, which runs through the DEUS II remote once the coil is paired
It is not compatible with the original XP Deus or the XP ORX. Those machines use XP's earlier WS4, WS5 and WS Audio headsets, which are a different wireless generation, so a WSA II will not pair with them. If you are matching parts across more than one XP machine, our XP parts and accessories by detector model page lists what fits what.
Mono Audio and DEUS II Firmware
The WSA II is a mono headset, and that matters for one specific reason. Run it on DEUS II software Version 4.1 or later, which restored support for non-stereo headphones and added the Low Square audio type and the PITCH LOW MI-6 option for WS6 and WSA II owners. Do not run it on Version 4.0: XP warns that mono headsets will not power on under 4.0, and recovering means rolling the remote back to 3.1. Keep the headphones on the same software version as the remote or they will not connect. The stereo-only features, Multi-Reactivity and Audio Morphing, need an ST-series headset instead, so compare the wireless headphone range first if those are what you are after.
