Using the Pro-Pointer AT in the field

The Pro-Pointer AT runs at 11.5 kHz with a 360-degree detection field around the tip, and responds with proportional audio and vibration that intensify as you close on the target. Three sensitivity settings let you turn it down for coin-sized targets in trashy ground or up for small gold. Fast Retune matters more than any other feature: press it once with the tip against mineralized soil to cancel the ground, or press it near a large target to shrink the field so you can isolate a small one next to it. The ruler moulded into the housing reads depth in inches and centimeters, the LED lights the hole, and the lost-pinpointer alarm chirps after five minutes of inactivity so it does not stay in the grass. Waterproof to 20 feet (IP68), it works in surf and streams; rinse it in fresh water after saltwater sessions and keep the battery cap threads clean.

What the All Terrain Dig Pouch adds

The Garrett All Terrain Dig Pouch (part 1664800) is a belt pouch with two zippered compartments, mesh screen panels that let sand and water drain out, a dedicated Pro-Pointer holster on the side, and a carabiner clip for rings and keys. Keeping keepers in one pocket and trash in the other means you stop sorting through aluminum at the car, and the holster keeps the pinpointer at hip height for a one-handed draw.
