Clive James Clynick Metal Detecting Books

Who Is Clive James Clynick

Clive James Clynick is a veteran detectorist and the author of more than 26 metal detecting books. His writing focuses on the practical, machine-specific knowledge that turns a capable detector into a productive one. Rather than rewriting the owner's manual, Clynick documents the field-tested settings, target responses, and site tactics that detectorists usually only learn after thousands of hours of swinging a coil. We stock his full catalog because his guides consistently help our customers get more out of the machines they already own.

What Makes Clynick's Books Different

Most detector manuals give you factory presets and basic operation. Clynick's metal detecting books go deeper, offering configuration insights and the kind of field-tested adjustments you learn after years in the field. His titles cover a wide range of machines and hunting scenarios, from coin shooting in trashy parks to gold prospecting in mineralized ground. Each book is short, focused, and written for detectorists who want answers fast without unnecessary filler. If you are still choosing a machine, pair these guides with our full range of metal detectors so your reading matches the detector in your hand.

Machine-Specific Settings for Coins, Relics, and Gold

Clynick's strength is the machine-specific guide. Instead of generic advice that applies to every detector, he breaks down individual models from brands like Minelab, XP, Nokta, Garrett, and Fisher so you can dial in your setup with confidence. If you are hunting coins with coin-hunting detectors, chasing deep relics with relic hunting detectors, or working mineralized ground with gold detectors, his books provide a starting point grounded in decades of real finds. The tips-and-settings format lets you read a chapter, make an adjustment, and get back to your search.
