The XP Coil Cover for the ICON 11" (28cm) FMF Coil is the genuine protective skidplate for the search coil supplied with the XP ICON and ICONX metal detectors. It fits over the underside of the coil and takes the scrapes, knocks, and constant ground contact of real detecting, so wear lands on an inexpensive replaceable cover instead of your wireless FMF coil.

On the ICON platform the coil is not just a coil: it houses the FMF fast multi frequency electronics and the lithium battery that give the machine its performance, which makes it one of the most valuable components on the detector. XP ships every D28FMFIC coil with a cover fitted for exactly that reason. Good technique keeps the coil low and scrubbing the ground, and beach sand, gravel, and field flint all eat plastic. When the original cover wears thin or cracks, you swap in a new one and the coil underneath keeps looking and performing like the day it left France. A cover costs a fraction of a replacement coil and protects resale value on the whole machine.
